“All mothers and children deserve the opportunity to experience natural childbirth!”
What happens when your baby is born with a condition that necessitates hospitalization, or if the mom needs a c-section or else both she and the baby will die? Why is natural birthing treated like it’s some right of passage (pardon the pun)? Your baby doesn’t care how it comes out, it won’t even remember the first three years of its life, let alone the experience of sliding out of your slimy vagoo. I’m seriously tired of this white, cissexist, ableist motherhood ideal. It’s seriously ridiculous.

I hate when “natural” childbirth is touted as the best way, same goes for breast feeding. Yes, it can be great for the baby but sometimes it doesn’t work out. My mom’s first birth was natural but she barely made it through that. Her water never breaks, which means My brother had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and I never got into place. Because of an infection she couldn’t breastfeed my brother. My sister is disabled and had to have extra medical care to make it through delivery and she couldn’t breastfeed due to medication. I think this is just ONE MORE WAY to pit people with uteruses against each other.
